Q. How often should I have carpet cleaning done?

A. We personally recommend having your carpets cleaned every 12-18 months. Having your carpets cleaned regularly will prevent them from becoming heavily soiled and it will increase their length of life. If you don’t have your carpets cleaned regularly they will start to look tired and dirty.

Q. Which cleaning method do you use ?

A. We use a hot water extraction carpet cleaning machine – commonly known as steam cleaning. Each machine is very powerful and cleans carpets or upholstery in the most efficient and effective manner. Carpet cleaning with hot water extraction is eco-friendly and kinder to the environment as it uses much less water and detergent on every clean that other carpet cleaning processes. Whilst shampooing, bonnet cleaning can be efficient – this process can over wet your carpets and cause possible shrinkage. Hot water extraction cleaning is the preferred process by the majority of professional carpet cleaners.

Q. I have children/pets; will they be affected by the cleaning process?

A. No. All the detergents and solutions we use are pet and children friendly. They can even walk on the carpet right after we’ve cleaned it.

Q. How long will it take you to clean my carpets?

A. This depends on the condition of the carpet we’re cleaning and other tasks such as moving furniture. If we are cleaning the average carpet in a standard sized house then it will take around three hours to do a thorough job.

Q. How long will my carpet take to dry?

A. The drying time differs slightly on every job depending on weather conditions, how soiled or stained the carpet is and the temperature of the property that we’re working in. On a usal day, carpets are dry within 2-4 hours time. Upholstery generally takes a little longer depending on fabric type and soiling.

Q. Can my carpets shrink?

A. As long as the carpet has been fitted correctly and it is cleaned correctly it won’t shrink. We always inspect your carpet before cleaning it and we always make sure the water is the correct temperature.

Q. Are you able to remove all stains?

A. In theory, yes. If our extraction machines can’t remove the stains, we have an assortment of spotting solutions with us on every job. In fairly rare occasions some stains we won’t be able to remove.

Q. Can you apply stain protection?

A. Yes, we use Fluoroseal protection to protect your carpets. This comes at an additional charge. You can bolt this on to your booking as a treatment from the booking page.

Q. Do I have to move furniture?

A. The majority of Forest Row carpet cleaning companies are happy to move your furniture, some may charge for this service. We move all furniture, clean and return the furniture to its home.
