For more information about the carpet, curtain, rug and upholstery cleaning services we offer and the cleaning methods and process we use, please read the frequently asked questions below. For any other queries, please contact us.
Q. How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
A. It is recommended that you get your carpets cleaned every 12-18 months. Having your carpets cleaned on a regular basis will stop them from becoming heavily stained and soiled, and it will prolong their lifespan. If you don't clean your carpets on a regular basis they will eventually look tired and dirty.
Q. Can I clean my soft furnishings myself?
A. When cleaning soft furnishings it is recommended that you have them professionally cleaned. It is possible to wash this type of furniture yourself but you will run the risk of causing more damage. An established cleaning company will have the necessary knowledge, experience and equipment needed to ensure that your upholstery is cleaned correctly and effectively.
Q. Which method do you use for cleaning?
A. We use a hot water extraction machine – commonly known as steam cleaning – to deep clean your carpets or upholstery in the most efficient, effective manner. We don't use truck-mounted machinery, as we don't want to be cleaning in your property with the front door open and have hoses running throughout your property. Our portable machines will clean your carpets or upholstery effectively while causing the minimal amount of hassle to you the customer. We take great care to prepare whatever we are cleaning to make the final result more satisfying and lasting. Our equipment and methods will leave your carpets and upholstery hygienically clean, smelling fresh and restored to their former glory.
Q. Which machines do you use?
A. All of our cleaning operatives carry the latest equipment including an Airflex Storm, Steampro 2000 Powermax with a twinjet wand and a Prochem Bravo that is ideal for stain removal and upholstery.
Q. I have children/pets; will they be affected by the cleaning process?
A. This is a possibility if you don't use the right cleaning company. Some carpet cleaning companies will use inferior products in the hope of making bigger profits. AAAClean only use high quality products that are human, animal and eco-friendly. A professional carpet cleaning company will always ensure that any cleaning solutions have been thoroughly rinsed from your carpets or soft furnishings.
Q. How long will it take you to clean my carpets?
A. This depends on the condition of the items we are cleaning. If we are cleaning reasonably clean carpets in a standard sized house then it will take around two hours to do a thorough job. A three-piece suite will take about 90 minutes. Even though we use the best equipment and cleaning solutions some jobs will take us longer than normal. We do realise that us being in your property can be an inconvenience and we do try to work as quickly as possible while still doing a proper job.
Q. Will my carpets re-soil quicker following cleaning?
A. No they won't. Modern cleaning solutions are designed to be non-harmful and they will in no way weaken the material of your carpet. Professional carpet cleaners will use the recommended cleaning products and equipment that is designed for the safe removal of dirt and stains. Incorrect cleaning methods can damage carpets and leave them open to heavier soiling in the future. People often use household products to clean small stains, which often does more damage.
Q. How long will my carpet or furniture take to dry and how soon will it be back in use?
A. The drying time will differ slightly on every job in accordance with the weather conditions, how soiled and stained the item being cleaned is, and the temperature of the property we're working in. You can expect your carpets to be dry within 2-4 hours on a normal day, upholstery usually takes a little longer - but this all depends on the soiling and fabric type.
Q. Is there a risk of shrinkage?
A. If the carpet has been fitted correctly and it is cleaned correctly it won't shrink. A professional carpet cleaning company will always fully inspect the carpet before cleaning it and they will use water that is at the correct temperature.
Q. Will all the stains come out?
A. Sometimes it is not possible to remove all stains – even the easy ones. Some stains will have been left for too long or they will have been incorrectly cleaned causing the stain to often increase in size. AAAClean operatives are fully trained and expert stain removers. Our cleaners carry the highest quality cleaning solutions and they have the knowledge needed to budge even the most stubborn stains.
Q. Will professional cleaning affect the stain protector on my carpet, and will it need to be re-applied?
A. If your carpets are coated with a protector it will over time start to wear off due to routine cleaning and general use. A spray-on protector will help to prolong the life of your carpets and help to keep them clean and free from stains, though it will need to be periodically reapplied especially if you have just had your carpets cleaned.
Q. Do I have to move furniture?
A. Most carpet cleaning companies are more than happy to remove furniture, though some will charge for this service. Large items of furniture will be removed (where possible) from the room being cleaned and will only be returned at the end of the job. Any valuable items that are in the room will need to be removed before cleaning can commence, unless they are clearly brought to the attention of the cleaner who is present.
Q. Do I have to vacuum before you arrive?
A. It is not necessary for the customer to vacuum their carpets prior to our arrival. We automatically prepare every carpet prior to its deep clean and part of that process involves vacuuming to remove loose dirt and dust.
Q. What should I do before you arrive?
A. Prior to our arrival we ask the customer to remove as many items from the area being cleaned as possible. We don't ask our customers to remove heavy, cumbersome items but we do ask them to remove anything that is valuable or fragile.
Q. Is Stain Protector and Carpet Conditioner included in the price?
A. Unless we are running any special offers then the price quoted will only include deep cleaning and stain removal. You can pay extra to have carpet protector put down but more often than not if you have multiple carpets or upholstery cleaned, the operative may apply it for free.
Q. How do you charge?
A. This depends entirely on the carpet being cleaned. If your carpet is heavily soiled then it is recommended to receive a free quote before having the work carried out. If we are cleaning a large carpet – usually commercial - that is heavily soiled the whole area will have to be measured. If we were cleaning a carpet in a residential property that is only slightly soiled then we would have no need to measure it.
Q. Why do you charge extra for wool carpets?
A. Wool carpets are very delicate and easily damaged. We can clean them but the time and work involved means it is more expensive to clean than a synthetic carpet.
Q. How do you accept payment?
A. We are happy to accept cash payments on the day or credit/debit card when booking. We can accept payment via BACs also as long as it has been previously agreed.
Q. Are you insured?
A. Yes, AAAClean has £1,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.
Q. Which areas do you service?
A. We cover the whole of Kent and some areas in East Sussex.
